Description of the Plant: An erect herb, 30-50 cm tall, pubescent upwards. Leaves 8 x 2 cm, hairy on the veins, lanceolate, narrowed at both ends. Inflorescence in lax axillary cyme, flower violet-blue with pinkish markings inside. Fruit a capsule, clavate, 2-3 cm long; seeds ellipsoid-orbicular, dark brown to black.

insect bites.
Roots and leaves of the plant are used for alleviating urinary retention.
